The Business Unit makes learning simple. Set up to help you learn in a way that is flexible and supports business development, the Business Unit can deliver bespoke training on a one-to-one or group basis within the workplace, through e-learning on demand and taught courses at BCoT.

Quality and accreditation

Matrix 

Matrix is the national quality standard for any organisation that delivers information, advice and/or guidance on learning and work.  The standards focus on how the service is delivered and how the service is managed.  BCoT was awarded this in 2006.

Investors in People

The Investors in People Standard is a business improvement tool designed to advance an organisations performance through its people.  Achieving the standards demonstrates the confidence that there are no fundamental gaps in our people management systems.

CoVE

The Centres of Vocational Excellence (CoVE) Programme is sponsored and implemented by the Learning and Skills Council.  In April 2004 BCoT was awarded interim Centre of Vocational Excellence (CoVE) status in Construction and Interior Skills and in January 2006 awarded CoVE status in Retail and Associated Logistics.

 

TES/AoC Beacon Award 

The Beacon Awards go to further education colleges that have demonstrated innovation, partnership and excellence. BCoT was awarded the TES/AoC Beacon Award for Widening Participation in 2003.
