Q How many employers use colleges to provide training?

A More than half of the larger (500 employees+) employers funded or arranged training through an FE college. 46% of employers provide off-the-job training. Of these, a third had used colleges in the last 12 months. The average college has links with 500 firms. The bigger urban colleges can provide training and other services for 1000 or more firms. 60% of employees are in companies which use colleges for training.

A Business Trainers are recruited from industry and combine commercial experience with vocational qualifications. Quality mechanisms within the college ensure they remain up-to-date and relevant.

Q How can colleges provide cost-effective training?

A Colleges can access government funding through different initiatives, some unique to college providers, which can save you up to 100% of course fees.
