Description
The aim of this course is to help you gain an understanding of the industry and to learn some basic techniques and designs. You will look at the principles and elements of design and the power of colour. You will create various arrangments, wired pieces and bouquets using the basic techniques learned.
After completing this course you should be able to list and explain the principles and elements of design; and demonstrate basic techniques for building an arrangement, a wired piece and other aspects learnt on the course.
Course Content
You will discuss with the tutor at the first session what you want to achieve from the course. You can choose from the following but please let your tutor know if you wish to cover anything else in addition:

: All round hand-tie bouquets
: Front facing arrangement
: Halloween novelty arrangement
: Modern limited arrangement
: Long and low arrangement
: Vase arrangement/corsages
: Cake arrangements
: Holly Wreath
: Christmas arrangements
Entry Requirements
Anyone wishing to learn basic techniques in floristry and gain an introduction before considering taking a career in the industry or wishing to take a more formal qualification.
Method of Assessment
Each week a practical piece will be created to successfully demonstrate the knowledge gained from a demonstration from the lecturer. You will be given feedback on your creation by the tutor.
