Applicants must be at least 18 years of age. Applications are particularly welcome from mature students and any previous qualifications and relevant work experience will be taken into consideration

COURSE FEES

The cost of each module is £405, however the University of Winchester provides studentships for part-time undergraduate students who are paying their own fees which reduces the cost of each module to £200.

Entry Requirements

The course is aimed at those already working in the industry sector of hair, beauty and spa and wish to further their interest within the context of a vocationally relevant degree programme.

Description

The Foundation Degree was written with employers to meet the needs of the industry. It is a work based qualification and uses your employment as the basis for knowledge development. This enables the learner to achieve a higher level qualification whilst staying in the workplace.

The Programme has two start dates: September and February and is delivered across two campuses: The University of Winchester Campus at Chute House in Basingstoke and Basingstoke College of Further Education.  The Foundation Degree is studied part-time and can be achieved between 2 - 6 years but students usually commit to complete the degree over 3 years.
The programme is offered on Tuesday or Thursday evenings and/or Monday daytime. Attendance depends on whether modules are undertaken singularly or more than one at a time.

Method of assessment

Assessment is achieved through a combination of written assignments, assessed coursework, oral presentations, discussions, reflective learning journals and group work.
It is expected that all students will enter for the qualification.
