College Nursery

About us

The College Nursery opened in September 1996 and is situated on the lower ground floor of Basingstoke College of Technology (BCoT) North Site building. There are three large, airy rooms for babies, toddlers and children, with space for quiet time and creative activities. Two areas for outside play which are integral to the Nursery

Aims for Our Children

In partnership with our parents, the Nursery is committed to providing children with a safe, caring, stimulating environment where they can have fun and be given the opportunity to learn and grow through play at their own individual pace.

We offer a range of activities through freeflow and continuous provision therefore allowing the children to move and fully engage in the activities of their choice with adult support when needed.

The Nursery was Inspected by Ofsted in April 2007, the Nursery was found overall to be good with outstanding for our partnership with parents.

The staff

Our team of highly trained, dedicated, professional Nursery Nurses are selected for their love of working with children. Through formal training and practice they all have a huge amount of experience of caring for children.

All staff undertake First Aid Training and regularly attend 'Professional Update' courses and training sessions to further their professional development.

Opening times

The Nursery is open 50 weeks a year.

We are open Monday to Friday from 8.00 am to 6.00 pm for full-time children who attend.

We also offer sessional care as follows:

Morning sessions: 8:00am to 1:00pm. This includes breakfast, mid-morning drink and lunch.
Afternoon sessions: 1:00pm to 6:00pm.This includes afternoon drink and tea.

The Nursery is closed for 2 weeks over Christmas, all Bank Holidays and one day in the year for all staff training.
