SPORTS DEVELOPMENT SCHEME

BCOT Sports Development Scheme has been designed for talented and gifted students.

BCOT has had several successful partnerships with local and county providers and those students attaining a place on the scheme may be given preferential access to facilities, equipment, coaching, sports science initiatives and remedial physiotherapy.

BCOT strives for sporting excellence and has widened its sports development scheme to include the following sports:

• Football
• Rugby
• Netball
• Cricket
• Swimming
• Ice Hockey
• Golf

This list is not inclusive and any sports person involved in another sport will be equally considered.

FOOTBALL ACADEMY

Basingstoke Town Football Club has developed, in partnership with BCOT, the Basingstoke Town Youth Academy. This is a 3 year initiative to develop the future players of Basingstoke Town FC. The selected players will train and study together every day on a 3 year sports course specifically designed for the Academy players and play in the Football Conference Youth League. This opportunity will only be open to 16 players every year and they must study at BCOT on the designated course. At the end of the course they will receive a BTEC National Diploma in Sport, various other sporting qualifications and also a firm grounding of football coaching which may lead to a place in Basingstoke Town’s first team squad. BASINGSTOKE SPORTS CENTRE

Full time BCOT students, who are members of the National Union of Students (NUS), will have the opportunity, for the price of an NUS card plus a gym induction fee, to use the Sports Centre in Basingstoke, free of charge.

SPORTS TEAMS

Everyone has the opportunity to play sport at the college. From netball to football, hockey to rollerblading, there’s something for everyone at BCOT.
