  • Name: Sean Falkner
  • School: Sherfield
  • Course: Engineering National Diploma

“My long term aim is to study Engineering with Automotive Design at university and thanks to Sherfield and BCoT working together I am benefiting from excellent training.

“As BCoT has links with Sherfield School both agreed to work together to give me the best possible chance of achieving my goal. I spend three days a week at BCoT studying on the Engineering National Diploma course and two days a week at Sherfield taking Maths and Physics A level lessons. My timetable is very demanding but so far I am able to balance the work and keep up, or sometimes ahead of it.

“All the courses I am taking are challenging and I really seem to have learnt a lot. This way of learning offers a reasonable balance between being very focused on all engineering aspects and the broader academic side. In some ways the A levels back up the information I learn on the National Diploma.

“I am really enjoying studying this way and appreciate the different atmosphere and teaching styles both establishments provide.”
