This framework has been developed by employers and providers to meet the needs of small and medium size enterprises through to the larger organisations. It provides a structured approach to training and developing prospective Accountants who understand the needs of the organisation, its customers and the sector within which they operate.
This course aims to enable candidates to obtain a Level 4 diploma in Accounting qualification with 41-44 QCF Credits, through the Association of Accounting Technicians professional qualification.
Course Length: 12 months
Course Location Workplace plus 1 day a week at college
Course Fee: If applicable
Start Date: September 2015
This Apprenticeship programme is made up of the following four components:
1. AAT Level 4 Diploma in Accounting
Knowledge units include: (there is also a choice of optional units to choose from)
Competence units include: (there is also a choice of optional units to choose from)
2. Level 2 Functional Skills in English and maths
3. Employment Rights and Responsibilities (ERR)
4. Personal Learning & Thinking Skills (PLTS)
Successful completion of Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in Accountancy (AAT Level 3)
The Apprenticeship will suit such job roles as: Accounts Manager and Accounting Technician
Most units are assessed by a computerised examination and one unit by a 4000 word assignment. Successful completion of all assessments is required for the qualification to be awarded.
Foundation Degree in Accounting. Various degree programmes in Accounting and Finance Individuals who have completed AAT Level 4, may gain direct entry into stage 2 of the Robert Gordon University - Aberdeen
BA Accounting with CIMA
Advanced Diploma programme depending on modules studied.
