Course Overview




This apprenticeship is ideal for those who are seeking to start a career in sales.  It develops the skills and knowledge required for a successful career in a sales environment and focuses on the laws, regulations and ethics of sales; telephone or face to face selling; planning your time; and understanding how buyers think.  

This apprenticeship is delivered within the workplace using real examples from the apprentice’s daily work

Your apprentice will benefit from excellent coaching from our highly skilled assessors, who will work closely with you to ensure the skills being developed reflect your requirements. 



Course Content

The programme requires a selection of competency and knowledge based units

Mandatory units:

Time Planning in Sales

Complying with Legal, Regulatory and Ethical Requirements in a Sales or Marketing role

Deliver Reliable Customer Service

There is a wide range of optional units, allowing the learner to tailor the qualification to their job role, these include a range of competency and knowledge based units.

Selling Face-to-face

Selling by Telephone (Inbound)

Selling by Telephone (Outbound)

Inputting and Accessing Sales or Marketing Data in information Systems

Processing Sales Orders

Preparing and Delivering a Sales

Demonstration

Selling at Exhibitions

Monitoring Sales Deliveries

Supporting Customers in Obtaining Finance for Purchases

Generating and Qualifying Sales Leads

Meeting Customers’ After-sales Needs

Obtaining and Analysing Sales-related information

To complete the apprenticeship, the learner must also complete:

  • Functional skills for English, Maths and ICT at Level 1
  • Personal learning and thinking skills (PLTS)
  • Employment rights and responsibilities (ERR)

Entry Requirement

Combined (competence and knowledge) qualification is a work-based qualification that combines competence and technical knowledge to give learners the practical competencies, technical skills and sector-related knowledge they need to be able to carry out a job effectively. Candidates will complete an initial assessment to establish suitability, as this is a work orientated qualification, for learners who are employed within the business administration sector such as Personal Assistant, Office Executive, or Office Supervisor they may already be employed in a cross-sector role of function that involves responsibility for carrying out and managing business administrative operations and functions.

Assessment

This programme is delivered through a range of assessment methods including observations, discussions, case studies, knowledge questions and witness testimonies. The functional skills exams are online assessments, delivered in the work place. The principles units will be taught in the classroom, again there are options for this, to meet employer and learner needs.
