This Apprenticeship will suit such job roles as:
Site carpenter working on a construction site or in domestic and
commercial premises, to given specifications, carrying out site carpentry to
first and second fixing (door frames, hanging doors, boxing pipes, window frames
and floor joists)
Bench joiner working in a joiners shop producing wood products, to
given specifications, for use by the site carpenter, such as doors, window
frames and stair cases.
Using machinery in the production of products plays an important part within
the joiners shop.
Typical Length: 24 months
Course Location: Workplace plus 1 day a week at college
This Apprenticeship programme is made up of the following five
Mandatory Units for the two pathways include:
2. Level 3 Diploma in Site Carpentry OR Level 3 Diploma in Bench
3. Level 2 Functional Skills in English and maths
4. Employment Rights and Responsibilities.
5. Personal Learning & Thinking Skills (PLTS)
You must be employed in a suitable wood occupations role and hold the
Level 2 Intermediate Apprenticeship in Wood Occupations AND Level 2
Functional Skills in English and maths or equivalent GCSEs.
Your learning will be assessed through observation of your practical work - both on site and in our training centre - and through you written assignment work.
Successful completion of this Advanced Apprenticeship could lead to further study in a related area and to progression at work, for example to supervisor roles.
