Course Overview

The following job roles are well suited:
Architects, sustainable designers, quantity surveyors, construction managers, civil engineers, project managers, surveyors, building control officers and structural engineers.

Course Length: 24 months

Course Location; Workplace plus 1 day a week at college

Course Content

The Apprenticeship is made up of the following five components:

1. Edexcel BTEC Level 3 Diploma—Construction and the Built Environment (delivered in college)

There are a total of eight units delivered over 24 months which cover the following topics:

Unit 1 Maintaining systems for health, safety, welfare and environmental protection in the workplace

Unit 2 Assessing and recommending work methods for carrying out site operations in the workplace

Unit 3 Planning activities and resources to meet work requirements in the workplace

Unit 4 Coordinating and organising the control of work in the workplace

Unit 5 Controlling work progress against agreed programmes in the workplace

Unit 6 Allocating and monitoring the use of plant, equipment or machinery in the workplace

+ Optional units

 

2. Edexcel Level 3 —Construction and the Built Environment (delivered in the workplace)

3. Functional Skills in English, maths and ICT.

4. Employee Rights and Responsibilities (ERR)

5. Personal Learning and Thinking Skills (PLTS)

Entry Requirement

An interview is required prior to enrolment,.

Candidates must hold the following:
5 GCSE Grades at A*-C Must include Maths, English and ICT.

Assessment

Predominantly assignment based with practical work-based elements.
