Course Overview

This apprenticeship combines day-release and workplace experience and will provide the necessary skills for you to work as a competent barber. You will learn under the specialist direction of the Mike Taylor Barbering College – one of the country’s leading barbers.

This apprenticeship in barbering is suitable if you are interested in cutting and styling the hair of men and boys. It is designed to develop the skills and knowledge required to work within the Barbering industry, for example, the use of materials, tools and techniques.

Course Content

You will learn about health and safety, client consultation, how to shampoo and condition hair, cutting hair, cutting beards and facial hair and colouring.

Entry Requirement

1 GCSE at grade 3 or above and 1 GCSE at grade 2 or above., or completion of our Future Pathways course.
You will need to be employed, or find employment, within the hair and barbering sector.
