Basingstoke College of Technology

BCOT's Plans

What would the new BCOT look like?

The new BCOT will be an inspirational and aspirational building for the students, staff and the communities of Basingstoke and the wider North Hampshire area. The form of the building has been developed as a single ‘skin’ to envelope its users in a secure and welcoming environment that will stimulate learning and encourage students to take the opportunity to expand their horizons.

The building has been broken down into sections. The mass of the building responds to the topography of the site and is sympathetic to the proportions of the houses on Kingsclere Road. The contours of the building are in keeping with the form of the hills in the distance.

The main ‘face’ of the College will look out to Kingsclere Road. There will also be access from the proposed Avenue which opens up a route across the rest of the development from the station and town centre to the College.
