Why move BCOT?
At BCOT we are passionate about vocational education and training, the opportunities it offers to individuals and employers and the value it brings to our communities. BCOT is doing excellent work in providing training to around 2,000 full-time and nearly 5,000 part-time students each year. It has much to offer to individuals who want to learn and to employers who are looking for good skills to keep their organisations, and the economy, buoyant.
The buildings at the current site will need to be replaced over the next few years. BCOT is taking this opportunity to present a proposal for moving its campus to a new development on Kingsclere Road – bringing an exciting, modern building to Basingstoke which will provide a quality teaching and learning experience. A new campus will support Basingstoke’s status as a Diamond for Growth.
Re-locating to Kingsclere Road will give BCOT:
- An opportunity to inspire people to engage, stay and progress in education by offering training in 21st century facilities.
- A single site, allowing full integration of all College services.
- Flexible spaces for vocational learning.
- An opportunity to support the proposed Learning Campus.
- A stronger role in supporting the business sector in Basingstoke through skills training.
- Accessible spaces for the public to engage with the College, with a hair and beauty training salon, training restaurant and exhibition space.
- Close proximity to the town centre.
- Access to good transport links.
