We are pleased to offer a range of short courses up to Level 2 for development of your skills, knowledge and qualifications, to enable you to apply for a new role with confidence and an updated CV. These courses are free to those in receipt of certain benefits and those on a low income.

BCoT works closely with local authorities, employers and other agencies to provide development, education and training for the unemployed, those on a low income and employees.

This course will help you prepare to work within the health and social care sector. Areas of study include principles of adult social care, protection and safeguarding, mental health and dementia awareness. You will gain a Laser L1 qualification in Adult Social Care.
Level 1 Laser Extended Award in Learning, Employability & Progression (Adult Care)
This course will offer you the skills and qualifications to work in childcare. You will have the opportunity to achieve an NCFE L2 in Introduction to Caring for Children and Young People Certificate.
Level 2 TQUK Certificate in Intro to Caring for Children & Young People
We also offer Beginner and Improvers ICT courses, which can lead to studying a Functional Skills Level 2 ICT qualification. Beginners ICT will boost your confidence in using the Internet and Microsoft Word software, whilst Improvers will expand on this and include using Excel. There is the opportunity to take a Functional Skills L1 in ICT and progress to L2 Functional Skills, if appropriate.
Level 1 Laser Improvers ICT
This training programme, run by BCoT in collaboration with Hampshire County Council's Technical Construction Skills Project, offers you the skills and qualifications to work in the construction industry and provides the opportunity to study towards your Level 1 Health & Safety qualification; a requirement for working on construction sites.

This course is aimed at those wishing to work in a reception, retail or office environment and covers dealing with enquiries face to face, in writing and over the ‘phone. It also covers meeting customers’ requests and problems. This offers you the opportunity to achieve a Laser L1 Customer Service and also the potential to progress to NCFE L2 Customer Service.

This course will help boost your confidence, whilst offering you the skills and motivation to apply for new jobs. You will have the opportunity to obtain an NCFE L1 Employability and work with experienced tutors to find a direction that works for you and get advice on job searches, CV writing and applications.
This course is aimed at those who wish to return to work in hospitality, or wish to work in hospitality for the first time. You will cover customer service in hospitality and food safety. This leads to an NCFE Level 1 Understanding Excellence in Hospitality and obtaining your Level 2 Food Safety qualification.
