Enrolment Frequently Asked Questions

Enrolment Information

What is enrolment?

Enrolment is the final step in the application journey when you are offered a secure place on a course at BCoT based on your GCSE grades.

Will I receive an appointment to enrol?

Yes.  We will confirm your enrolment appointment by letter.

What happens at enrolment?

At enrolment you will meet the curriculum teams to discuss and agree on your course choice, any English or maths resits required and support needs you may have.

You will also collect your ID badge which you will need to gain access to the college and for registration purposes, and you will be given the start date and time for your course induction.

Please allow around one hour to complete your enrolment. Your parents/carers are welcome to accompany you at enrolment.

What do I need to bring to enrolment?

You MUST bring the following documents with you to enrolment

  • Your GCSE certificates or results slips
  • Proof of who you are (passport, birth certificate or similar)
  • If you have one, a smartphone or tablet to enable you to electronically sign your learning agreement
  • If you have told us about a support need or medical condition then bring any relevant documents

What do I need to do once I’ve received my GCSE results?

Once you’ve received your GCSE results on 25th August, please send these to us as soon as you can.  If you have received your results by email, the easiest way is to forward your email to us at gcseresults@bcot.ac.uk.  Alternatively, you can log onto your dashboard (https://dashboard.bcot.ac.uk/) and upload them.

If my grades are different from what I was expecting, what will happen at enrolment?

If you would like to talk to anyone about your grades or course choice, drop into the College on the 25th August between 10 am and 3 pm to meet our friendly team.  Alternatively, email nextyear@bcot.ac.uk or call 01256 306679, or use the chat facility on our website.  We can help you find a suitable course.

Do I have to enrol?

Yes - everyone needs to attend college in person to enrol.

What should I do if I can't make enrolment or miss my slot?

If you cannot attend your enrolment appointment, please let us know so that an alternative appointment can be made.  Email studentrecords@bcot.ac.uk or call 01256 306453.

Can I bring someone with me?

Yes. You can bring one person with you – a parent, carer, sibling or friend.
