Learning technology leaders and innovators from across the education sector came together at Basingstoke College of Technology (BCoT) on Wednesday 21 November to explore how educational institutions can make the most of Google cloud technologies.
The ‘Sharing Good Practice’ event, which was organised by Cloud Learning Services company C-Learning, aimed to connect leading minds from across the sector to present and discuss how organisations can make the best use of Google G-Suite for Education technology, utilising digital tools such as Google Classroom, Chromebooks, Jamboard and virtual reality.
A number of workshops took place over the course of the day, including presentations from Shaun Reeves (Lecturer in Computer Games Programming at Staffordshire University), Jamie E Smith (Executive Chairman of C-Learning) and Scott Hayden (Digital Innovation Specialist at BCoT).
Anthony Bravo, Principal of BCoT, said: “We were really honoured to be asked to host this event by C-Learning. As a college, we value the role and impact of education technology very highly, and our dedicated digital team are just one example of how we are adapting our approach in and outside of the classroom to ensure a positive learning experience for our learners.”
The event further cements BCoT’s position as a leading light of education technology in Further Education, having been recognised at the 2018 Tes FE Awards for ‘Outstanding use of technology for improving teaching, learning and assessment’, listed as the leading college and one of only three colleges in the Edtech50, and named as a Google for Education Reference College.
If you want to learn using innovative technology in the classroom, apply now to study at BCoT from September 2019.
