West Berkshire Training Consortium (WBTC), part of the Basingstoke College of Technology (BCoT) Group, has been awarded ‘Best Training Provider’ at the Berkshire Apprenticeship Awards 2018.
The award ceremony, hosted by the Berkshire Apprentice Service and supported by the Thames Valley Berkshire LEP, took place at Legoland Windsor on Thursday 22 November and showcased the best of apprenticeships in Berkshire.
WBTC beat off some stiff competition from their fellow nominees including Alan Hester Associates, the Atomic Weapons Establishment (AWE), Bracknell and Wokingham College and the Windsor Forest Colleges Group. They were named the winner in recognition of the organisation’s successful and diverse apprenticeship offering, with apprentices in a number of roles across the Berkshire region supported by WBTC’s own experienced training consultants.
Matt Garvey, Managing Director of WBTC, said: “Everyone at WBTC is thrilled that we have won the Best Training Provider category at the Berkshire Apprenticeship Awards 2018. It tops off an exciting year where we not only scored 94% in the national learner and employer satisfaction surveys but also once more had outstanding apprenticeship achievement rates.”
Anthony Bravo, CEO of the BCoT Group, added: “I would like to pass on my congratulations to Matt and everyone at WBTC for winning this award, which cements WBTC as the leading apprenticeship provider in the Berkshire region.”
A number of awards were up for grabs for apprentices, local businesses and training providers, with several individual nominees currently studying with WBTC as part of their apprenticeships.
WBTC formally joined the BCoT group in June 2018 in a move that aims to provide increased opportunities to grow business, allow for wider tendering opportunities and create a stronger operating footprint for both organisations.
