Art students work with Night Light Winter Shelter

New water themed artwork created for men’s bedroom

Basingstoke College of Technology (BCoT) students studying for their Level 3 Introductory Diploma in Art and Design have created artwork for the Basingstoke Night Light Winter Shelter (NLWS). The new water themed pieces, created as part of the students’ work experience activity, will now benefit the community project set up by local churches to offer shelter and hospitality to rough sleepers in Basingstoke.

The soothing artwork which is on display in the men’s bedroom at the shelter, has given the students an ideal opportunity to deepen their learning and put the skills and techniques they’ve learnt into practice.

Commenting on the difference the artwork has made, Lorraine Anstey, NLWS Project Coordinator said: “Huge thanks to BCoT students for the wonderful artwork. The tranquil blues and beautiful designs have really brightened up the men’s bedroom.”
