Basingstoke College of Technology (BCoT) students were recently treated to a special one-off guest lecture, courtesy of the Engineering and Physical Sciences department at University of Southampton.
Dr Hannah Semeraro, Lecturer in Audiology at University of Southampton, visited the college earlier this month to give a presentation to students about the role of, and careers in, audiology. The workshop was open to students currently studying a biology, nursing, social work and psychology Access to Higher Education (HE) course.
Principal Anthony Bravo said: “I would like to thank Dr Semeraro for visiting the college and providing our students with an experienced insight into the world of audiology. 93.2% of our Access students pass the course and are able to progress to university, and having the opportunity to hear and learn from university lecturers always inspires our Access students to continue their studies at university.”
BCoT’s Access to HE courses are one-year study programmes which are ideal for anyone over the age of 19 who wants to study at university, but does not currently have the required grades to do so.
If you are over the age of 19 and want to study at university, you can find out more about studying an Access to HE course at BCoT at bcot.ac.uk/access or call 01256 354 141.
