BCoT has received two awards for helping to improve lives and excelling in barbering education.
On Friday 13 December 2019, students from Basingstoke College of Technology (BCoT) hosted a variety of Christmas fundraising events across the college to raise money for local and national charities.
The Students’ Union organised for staff and students to don their favourite Christmas jumpers for the day in exchange for donations, alongside a festive bake sale, raising a total of £224 for Save the Children. Meanwhile, a collection of food and toiletries for a local charity, Basingstoke Foodbank, was taking place for people in crisis in the local area.
Specialist Provision students held an event with cake sales, sweets, arts and crafts and a tombola, raising £203 that will be split between two charities, Thrive and Basingstoke District Disability Forum.
After the event, Principal at BCoT, Anthony Bravo, said: “I’d like to say a big thank you to our students for their commitment to raising funds through their Christmas events. It’s great to see such amazing support for local and national charities, I’m really proud of what our students have achieved for those in need.”
BCoT is holding an Open Day on Monday 10 February 2020. To register to attend, visit or to find out more about our courses, visit bcot.ac.uk.
