BCoT has received two awards for helping to improve lives and excelling in barbering education.
In December, Basingstoke College of Technology (BCoT) welcomed representatives from the Education Department of the Provincial Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region to hear more about how the college runs and supports its leading apprenticeship programme.
BCoT’s apprenticeship team, Aspiral Learning, is one of the largest providers in the region. The visitors spent a morning with Anthony Bravo, Principal at BCoT and Marcus Headington, Head of Business & External Engagement who talked through the apprenticeship learner journey and how the college works with employers to secure apprenticeships.
Anthony Bravo said: “It was a pleasure to welcome our guests all the way from China – it’s fantastic to know we’re a leading example of how colleges can run successful apprenticeship schemes. We have brilliant employer links, working with local and national businesses to ensure our students learn the skills needed in their industry and it’s an honour to be able to showcase our apprenticeship programme to people from across the world.”
BCoT has automotive, engineering and construction workshops, art and design studios, science laboratories, hair and beauty salons and an Early Years nursery rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted. All areas are equipped with specialist tools and apparatus to give a hands-on experience. BCoT offer a wide range of apprenticeships – more than 60 different apprenticeship training programmes are available in many areas including business, construction, engineering and hospitality.
