Basingstoke College of Technology (BCoT) is to host one of the biggest apprenticeship events in the south of England as part of National Apprenticeship Week 2020. More than 45 top employers with lots of vacancies to fill, will be at BCoT’s Apprenticeship Recruitment Fair on Monday 3 February 2020, 4.30pm to 7pm.
The Fair, which features a number of impressive companies including BMW, Trident Electrical and Middlesex Aerospace, is the ideal occasion for young people and parents to explore apprenticeships.
Aspiral Learning, the college’s apprenticeship team, will be on-hand to provide expert guidance to employers and those looking to take on an apprenticeship.
Aspiral Learning is one of the largest apprenticeship providers in the region. Commenting on the value of this expertise Anthony Bravo, Principal, said: “Our strength is an apprenticeship offer which includes more than 60 different training programmes across a huge range of industries. With outstanding facilities and excellent employer links we work with both local and national organisations. Quality is also assured with the college in the top 30% nationally for timely achievement of apprenticeships for all ages and levels*.”
Increasingly, young people are turning to apprenticeships as a means of gaining a recognised qualification and workplace experience, all while earning a salary. With options for either day release or personal tutoring in the workplace, apprenticeships now go from Level 2 up to degree level (Level 7), with the big advantage of no tuition fees and student loans.
Commenting on how her Level 3 Social Media Apprenticeship undertaken at Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council helped further her career, Emily said: “I enjoyed learning about all things social media, using the new skills and knowledge within my role to benefit the management of different social networks. My qualification has enabled me to progress onto a Level 6 Digital Marketer Apprenticeship with Southampton Solent University.”
Now in its 13th year National Apprenticeship Week is a celebration of apprenticeships across England. Employers, partners and providers come together to shine a light on apprenticeships and the opportunities they present to young people and businesses alike.
