Pottery for Intermediates

Part Time


Course Overview

Intermediate Pottery has been specifically designed for those who have completed our beginners class or have some experience working with clay. 

Course Content

The course will encourage students to work towards personal projects whilst expanding and developing their skills in pottery. This will include the introduction of stoneware clay, allow students to make larger outdoor sculptures, use of additional materials, glass and wire. The course extends to use of the potter’s wheel and  development of existing skills in slab building, coil and scraffito. 

All work will be fired. Learners will be able to glaze their completed ceramics using our specialist glazes and facilities.


Entry Requirement

Students must have some experience of working with clay or completed our 'Pottery for Beginners' course previously.

Assessment

There are no formal assessments.

Where does this course lead to

Students are welcome to try other part time courses we offer.

Should demand for other courses be sufficient we will look to provide the next level of course for this subject area.
