This course has been designed to introduce the complete novice to the basics of ceramics. The course will help you develop a number of skills and techniques including pinch pots, coil pots and slab building.
Learners will learn how to throw pots on the potters wheel and learn decorative techniques including sgraffito and glazing.
The course is designed to help you explore the potential of clay and no previous experience is necessary! Previous students have created wind chimes, tiles, decorative sculptures, tea light holders, tablewear and much more. We can provide inspiration for your creations or you can work on your own personal projects.
All work will be fired in our professional standard kilns.
There are no formal entry requirements for this course.
No formal assessments.
On completion, students will be able to progress onto our 'Pottery for Intermediates' course.
