BCoT’s facilities are way better than other local colleges, they have such a wider range of equipment.

Why did you choose to study with BCoT?
It was a really last minute decision to be honest! It was really convenient as I live close to BCoT so I could be flexible when I come in and out of college outside of lessons. BCoT’s facilities are way better than QMCs, they have such a wider range of equipment.

Why did you choose your course in particular?
I was really unsure what to do after A Level. I knew I wanted to do an extra year of studying and the course definitely helped me decide what I wanted to do afterwards.

Do you have a career plan in mind before joining BCoT and has it changed?
After this I’m going to become a teaching assistant and florist.

What do you like most about your course/apprenticeship? Any memorable moments/trips?
Being able to express myself with all mediums. A-Level is quite restricted but here I’ve done ceramics, jewellery, fashion…all sorts. The course really helps you realise just how much you are capable of and we’ve even been on trips to Berlin, Kew Gardens, the V&A museum and the Pit Rivers Museum in Oxford.

What do you think of your tutor/the staff at BCoT?
Pete is absolutely brilliant. He’s open-minded and always encourages you with whatever path you choose to go down. He never discourages you from doing something.

What would you say to anyone thinking of doing the same course as you?
Do it even if you don’t know what to do next. Instead of sitting around for a year you may as well spend a year getting more experience. You get a real opportunity to experiment with loads of facilities and then you can specialise in whatever you want at the end.
