Build a career as an employed and/or self-employed make-up artist. The qualification will ensure you learn a wide range of make-up application processes while developing your knowledge and understanding of the relevant anatomy, physiology and health and safety. You’ll also get to build the skills to consult with clients, successfully promote retail products, and gain deeper understanding of the science of cosmetic application products.
This one year technical level 3 course is aimed at 16-18 year olds who are in a full-time Level 3 education programme and wish to pursue a career as an employed and/or self-employed make-up artist.
The qualification is designed to provide the learner with the widest range of make-up application processes currently available at Level 3.
Learners will develop their knowledge and understanding of relevant anatomy, physiology and health and safety. They will develop the knowledge, understanding and skills to consult with clients, successfully promote retail products, provide a range of make-up services. They will gain deeper understanding of the science of cosmetic application products.
In parallel, learners will develop their communication and customer service skills, awareness of environmental sustainability linked to commercial skills, all of which are valued highly by employers.
Problem solving and research skills will also be developed.
You will need five GCSEs A*/9 to C/4 including English and maths, or a relevant Level 2 qualification/apprenticeship.
This qualification is assessed through exams, observations and assignments.
Full time employment or University.
