Why did you choose to study with BCoT at the end of Year 11?
I originally went to do Science at QMC and I hated it. I’ve always been interested in make-up so I thought I should be studying something I’m actually interested in.
Why did you choose your course/Apprenticeship in particular?
I came to an Open Day and as soon as I walked in, everyone in the room was busy doing their own different thing, there was so much going on and I immediately know this was right for me.
What are you planning on doing after studying at BCoT?
I want to continue learning the art of make-up. I’m going to study Media Make-Up at university in Birmingham.
What do you like most about your course/apprenticeship? Any memorable moments/trips/units?
I loved doing character make-up. We had to recreate 6 characters from film or television on each other. We had to do a man and a woman from Shakespeare piece and then 6 of our own.
What do you think of your teachers at BCoT?
Jude is really good. Her teaching style means you get a lot of freedom to try things yourself and she is always happy to give you advice one-to-one if you want it.
What would you say to anyone thinking of doing the same course as you?QMC was really dull. The classes were silent and slow. My classes here are more fun and relaxed and the atmosphere is really good.
What advice would you give any Year 11’s who are about to start your course?Plan a lot more! If you have a photoshoot coming up make sure you plan it well in advance as best you can.
