Access to Higher Education in Business and Management

Full Time

Course Overview

This course has been designed specifically for mature students who do not have the relevant qualifications for immediate entry to higher education.

You will attend college four days a week between 9.30am and 3.30 in the afternoon.

Learners will be assigned a personal tutor who will support you with studies and personal development.

Good time-management skills are necessary as assessment of the course is on an on-going basis.

The curriculum is structured. Core units are delivered together with the cohorts of the other Access courses in the college. The specialist business and management units are delivered to the business students separately. There are weekly tutorials where one to ones take place and you set your own targets for the development of specific skills and knowledge, including completion of the UCAS process.

All resources, assignments are available on the Google Classrooms for your use and specific resources for eLearning sessions are updated weekly.

Where does this course lead to

On successful completion of this course, you could progress to the HNC/D Business course at BCoT.  Alternatively, this would be an appropriate stepping stone to go on and study a Business Management Degree (BA Hons) at University.

BCoT has good links with Southampton Solent University and the University of Winchester, for example.
