Apprenticeships are structured training programmes undertaken within a working environment. They use the skills and knowledge gained through work to provide learners with recognised qualifications. Apprenticeships can be undertaken by anyone over sixteen, whether a new or existing employee, and provide a great way of gaining a qualification whilst continuing to earn a wage.
We would expect the Apprenticeship to take one year to complete.
The apprenticeship is made up of mandatory units which cover the essential skills required for working in a Management position, such as developing operational plans, providing leadership and direction, planning change and working productively with colleagues and stakeholders. There are then a variety of optional units to choose from which focus on the specific tasks you carry out within your role which could include:
Promoting the use of technology
Candidates seeking to undertake this apprenticeship must be able to demonstrate ability equivalent to or exceeding Level 2 in English and mathematics. This requirement may be met through the achievement of Level 2 functional skills, equivalent GCSEs, O Levels, A Levels or AS Levels, or an initial assessment which demonstrates the required ability.

Examination of case history
All teaching, learning and assessment for the qualification will take place in the workplace. There is no requirement to attend college.
If they meet the entry criteria, successful candidates could go on to join the CMI (Chartered Management Institute) if they wish to.
