The purpose of this qualification is to increase learners' knowledge and understanding of common childhood illnesses to enable them to support the development and well being of infants and children they support or care for.
There are three mandatory units to be achievedUnit 1 - Understand how to provide safe and healthy environment for babies and young childrenUnit 2 - Understand common childhood illnessesUnit 3 - Understand health emergencies and specific conditions in an early years setting
To achieve the NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Common Childhood Illnesses, learners must successfully demonstrate their achievements of all learning outcomes and assessment criteria of the units, as detailed in the qualification specification. Grades are not awarded.
