Course Overview

If you’re a nursery manager, crèche supervisor or supervising others in the early years childcare sector, this apprenticeship will allow you to develop your skills and enjoy on the job training. Under the supervision of trained nursery staff, you can develop your career and continually have the opportunity to practice and embed your new skills in a real work context whilst working and earning money. You will learn a range of childcare and educational subjects essential for working in early years and primary education whilst gaining an understanding of the how’s and whys of their development.

Course Content

This apprenticeship consists of

  • Level 3 Diploma in Early Years Educator
  • L2 Award in Employment Responsibilities and Rights in HSC & Children & Young Person's Settings
  • Functional Skills level 2 maths
  • Functional Skills level 2 English
  • Functional Skills level 2 ICT


Entry Requirement

You will need five GCSEs at grade C/4 or above or equivalent including English and maths or Level 2 Functional Skills or above. You should have successfully completed a relevant Level 2 qualification and be employed in this sector (we can help with finding relevant employment).

Assessment

There are various methods available that can be tailored to suit your needs, such as:

  • Observation
  • Examination of case history
  • Product evidence
  • Witness testimony
  • Questioning

All teaching, learning and assessment for the qualification will take place in the workplace, except you may be required to attend Maths and English classes at the college.
