qualification has been developed for people working in the children and young
people’s area. It develops the wide-ranging knowledge and skills needed
when working with children and young people from birth up to 19 years. It
covers a diverse range of job roles and occupational areas. On completion
learners will be able to work unsupervised with children and young people
The qualification is appropriate for a nursery manager, supervisor, team leader supervising others in the early years sector or in a residential childcare setting

working in a suitable workplace as they will need to show competence in both
knowledge and skills.
The successful completion of a relevant level 2 qualification is required prior to starting this course and/or at least 4 GCSEs at grade D/4 or above. Work experience would also be taken into consideration.

All teaching, learning and assessment for the qualification will take place
in the workplace, except you may be required to attend Maths, English and ICT classes at the college.
This course could lead to promotion to a deputy manager role and advancement to a level 4 qualification - Children, Young People & Family Practitioner.
