The Level 4 in Digital & Computing Technologies is a
mixture of Media and Computer Science, which is ideal if you are unsure which of these subjects to specialise in.
The course has been designed to help develop
your knowledge, understanding and skills within the digital industry subjects.
This is a broad-based qualification that provides you with the opportunity to
progress towards further academic study or employment.
This programme consists of a range of units studied over
two units. These units include:
5 GCSEs at grade C/4 or above including English Language and Maths and GCSE Computer Science. Progressing learners will need to have achieved BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Computing at a Merit level or above and have passed both the Level 3 exams at Merit Level. In addition you will need to have a Level 2 in both Maths and English.
The course is continuously assessed by both practical and written assignments and internal exams.
This course is a recognised route into Higher Education. Students may progress to a HNC.
Employment opportunities range from IT Technician, Network Administrator, Software Design and Development and Database Administrator.
