With Networking and Cyber security becoming a focus point for the UK government, this Level 2 course has been designed to be more technical and hands on than our current Level 2 Extended certificate in ICT.
This course aims to give students more practical experience that specifically focuses around networking and cyber security, which is one of the fastest growing sectors in the IT industry.
With the push from the government who have recently set up the NCSC, there has never been a better time to specifically focus in a specific area of IT.
As part of this course you will study the following units:
You will need four GCSEs at grade D/3 (preferably to include English and maths) or successful completion of our Future Pathways course.
Learners are assessed via a range of assessment methods, which includes an examination set and marked in person and a collection of practical and written assignments set and marked by your unit lecturers.
You will have the opportunity to progress onto the Level 3 in Computing & Networking or Level 3 IT and Digital Technologies, if you achieve a Merit grade or above and have Grade 4 in Maths and English.
If you do not meet this criteria you will have the opportunity to complete the Level 2 in IT and Computing or to side step into another vocational area.
