The apprenticeship programme covers a range of practical skills and underpinning knowledge and includes the following components: networking fundamentals, mobile and operating systems, coding and logic and cloud services. You will also have the opportunity to study for the Microsoft Technical Associate qualifications and A+ Certification.
The apprenticeship programme is based on a modular series of knowledge assessments and structured work-place development, in line with the needs of the business and recognised standards structure. As part of the course you will be studying the following qualifications:
Networking Architecture
Learning outcome: Understand the use of a range of cabling and connectivity, the various types of antennas, wireless systems and IT test equipment.
Mobile and Operating Systems
Learning outcome:Understand the benefits of Current Operating Systems, Understand remote operation, deployment and secure integration of mobile services.
Cloud Services
Learning outcome: Understand Cloud and Cloud services, Understand disaster recovery and disaster recovery plans.
Coding Logic
Learning outcome: Understand the features and applications of a range of coding and logic used in support roles.
Business Processes
Learning outcome:Understand business processes and information security requirements that apply to IT function. Understand IT skill and services that support business operations.
Throughout the apprenticeship, a range of core behaviours will also be developed these will include evidence of team working, effective communication, time management, workplace productivity, professionalism and safety.
Apprentices also have the opportunity to study the Cisco IT essentials and CCNA1.
The course is made up of 5 units, with each unit being assessed via an online multiple choice exam. At the end of your apprenticeship you will have an end point assessment which includes a formal interview, a reference from your employer and a review of your portfolio of work that you collect across the course
This course can to the Level 4 Network Engineer or Level 4 Cyber Intrusion Apprenticeship.
