Level 4 Apprenticeship in Construction and the Built Environment


Course Overview

This course is suitable for those already working in a construction or related environment and who wish to further their education and skills.


Course Content

This diverse qualification will provide you with both theory knowledge and practical skills to advance your career in the busy, technology-driven industry.

Topics will include a variety of subjects including: health and safety; site management; design and planning principles; legal considerations; material properties and; environmental considerations in construction.

Entry Requirement

Candidates may have come through an Advanced (Level 3) Apprenticeship or have appropriate English and maths qualifications combined with workplace experience.

An interview will be required (with BCoT) prior to start; candidates will usually have their own employer but BCoT can assist in finding appropriate employment if required.


This course is assessed through ongoing project and assignment work.

Where does this course lead to

Successful completion of this qualification would allow students to consider further studies at a degree or professional level.
