This Apprenticeship is aimed at those looking to begin their career in a domestic heating role. Working alongside your employer, it will help you to gain both the practical experience and knowledge to progress.
You will undertake a range of practical, competence-based units and knowledge/theory units including the following topics:
Understand and apply domestic cold water system installation and maintenance techniques
Understand and apply domestic hot water system installation and maintenance
You should have, or be expected to achieve, three GCSEs
grades A-D in a communication subject (such as English language), maths and either
a science or technical-based subject.
Key Skills or Functional
Skills and relevant vocational/technical subjects will also be considered.
You will be assessed through both practical tasks, a portfolio of work and tasks at College.
successful completion of this Apprenticeship, you will have the skills, knowledge and qualifications to progress to a relevant Level 3
qualifications and/or Advanced Apprenticeship.
Potential job roles could include Technician, Designer Estimator, Project
Manager, Site/Workshop Supervisor/Manager, Chartered Engineer, Sales Engineer
or Commercial Manager.
Whilst this sector doesn’t currently have a ‘Licence
to Practice’, our apprenticeships are recognised as fulfilling the competence
requirements of the voluntary card schemes and will enable you to register on a
relevant industry recognised Certification Scheme. Completion of this framework
will provide the evidence required that you are deemed competent to carry out
this job role effectively and safely.
