Course Overview

This City & Guilds qualification is primarily aimed at practising electricians with relevant experience and other allied professionals e.g. surveyors, consultants and other trades needing to update and enhance their understanding of IEE Wiring Regulations.

This qualification ensures that you are up-to-date with the latest industry regulation on wiring and the safe use and operation of electrical equipment and systems. It covers the 18th edition of the IEE Wiring Regulations, which came into force in January 2019. The British Standards Institute recognises these regulations as a British Standard (BS7671).

If you're a practising electrician, you must comply with the regulations for electrical work, this qualification is designed to provide those seeking progression in their career with the opportunity to develop the skills necessary to carry out job roles and responsibilities associated with the Electrotechnical industry.

Why take this course?

Essentially you will want to make sure if you are working in an electrical installation that you are designing and installing to the latest regulations. In fact, every installation from January 2019 will need to be designed in line with the 18th Edition wiring regulations. Anyone looking to register with a competent person’s scheme must prove they are up to date even if they have already completed a Level 3 NVQ.
