This apprenticeship is ideal for those who are seeking a career as Property Maintenance Operatives. These individuals ensure that buildings are kept in good condition by ensuring that electrical, plumbing, plant, safety systems and equipment are kept in working order.They will also undertake preventative and reactive maintenance on buildings to ensure that the appearance of the interior and exterior is maintained appropriately. Job roles could include: Maintenance Assistant, Property Engineer, Facilities Assistant, Maintenance Engineer, Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Technician, Caretaker, Janitor, Multi-Skilled Technician and Premises Manager.The apprentices focus on Plumbing maintenance and repairs, Electrical testing and repairs, Painting and tiling tasks.Students will benefit from highly qualified and skilled staff who will deliver a mixture of practical and theory activities and assessments in the purpose built workshops.Part of the apprenticeship will involve on site assessments and the assessors will work closely with employers to ensure that the industry standards are being met.
The following aspects will be undertaken as part of the apprenticeship:
Minimum requirement of 4 GCSEs or equivalent at D / Level Three or above
Onsite assessments, Practical and theory within college and then an end point assessment.
Completing this apprenticeship programme with its transferable skills will enable progression into roles such as a Technical Specialist e.g. Electrical or Plumbing and Supervisory and Management roles e.g. Facilities Management, across a wide range of sectors.
