Level 4 Certificate in Education is a 24 week course that is aimed for practitioners who are new to teaching or training in the post compulsory sector or training environments. The course covers planning, delivery, resource development, assessment methods and inclusive practice.
You will learn from outstanding practitioners who will develop your practical skills as well as offer a broad knowledge into supporting learner needs and using technology in teaching and training to enthuse your learners!
This Level 4 course (formerly known as CTLLS) covers the following subjects:
Essential
An interview is requiredLevel 3 Education and Training or equivalentGCSE Maths and English Level 2 or equivalent Evidence of a minimum of 30 teaching hours in the post compulsory sector (confirmed during interview). If English is not your first language: IELTS 6.5 (including 6.5 in writing).
Desirable
Educated to Level 3
It is expected that candidates teach within the local area, if this is not the case a charge will be made for observations out of the area - please discuss at interview.
Assessment for the course is through a range of assignments, e.g. reports, essays, presentations. A paper portfolio is submitted at the end of the programme. There are three observations of practice to be graded 'good' or better.
Students can progress to Level 5, where there is a minimum teaching hours requirement of 100 hours in post compulsory education. If this is of interest to you, please discuss with the team at interview.
