Education and Training

This Level 5 course (formerly known as DTLLS) covers the following modules:

• Theories, principles and models in education and training
• Developing, using and organising resources in a specialist area
• Teaching, learning and assessment in education and training
• Developing teaching, learning and assessment in education and training
• Action research
• Teaching in a specialist area
• Wider professional practice and development in education and training 

Essential:

• An interview is required
• Level 4 Education and Training course or equivalent
• GCSE Maths and English, Level 2 or equivalent
• Evidence of a minimum of 100 teaching hours in the post-compulsory sector (confirmed during the interview) over the year of the course
• If English is not your first language: IELTS 6.5 (including 6.5 in writing)

Desirable:

• Educated to Level 3. It is expected that candidates teach within the local area, if this is not the case a charge will be made for observations out of the area - please discuss this at the interview.

Assessment for the course is through a range of assignments. Including reports, essays, presentations and a portfolio. You must have eight observations, four of which must be graded a 'good' or better.
