Course Overview

This qualification is for candidates who need to know more about the safety precautions to be taken when working on or near a high voltage hybrid vehicle. This qualification applies mainly to automotive technicians.

Level 3 candidates will have the essential knowledge for:

  • Taking safety precautions when working on hybrid vehicle systems
  • Using appropriate tools and equipment to carry out hybrid vehicle repairs safely and replace high voltage components
  • Recording information and making suitable recommendations.



Course Content

This qualification is for anyone interested in developing their career in the motor industry, to maintain and repair different types of hybrid/electric vehicles. To access this qualification you should be L2 qualified in Automotive already. This qualification is designed to enable you to understand, safely power down and correctly reinstate the high voltage system on a Hybrid or Electric vehicle and replace a high voltage component.

Entry Requirement

Level 2 Award in Hybrid Electric Vehicle Operation and Maintenance (4290-70).

Assessment

Online/written paper/practical assessment.

Where does this course lead to

These short training courses are not offered for progression, however, we are planning to offer progression on to C&G Level 4 Electric and Hybrid vehicle diagnostics.
If further progression is wanted, with the correct entry requirements, we do offer General Engineering HNC at Level 4.
