Course Overview

This award is designed for technicians who maintain and repair electric/hybrid vehicles. It contains the knowledge and skills required to work safely in and around the vehicle's high & low voltage electrical system and electric drive train system whilst carrying out repairs or maintenance.

On completion of this qualification, technicians will be able to practically demonstrate that they have the skills required for repairing vehicles with low & high voltage electric technologies.

Course Content

This qualification is for anyone interested in developing their career in the motor industry, to maintain and repair different types of hybrid/electric vehicles. To access this qualification you should be L2 qualified in Automotive already. This qualification is designed to enable you to understand, safely power down and correctly reinstate the high voltage system on a Hybrid or Electric vehicle.

Entry Requirement

Level 2 qualification in light vehicle maintenance.



Online/written paper/practical assessment.
