You will cover areas including maths and communications for technicians, workshop practices, computer aided design (CAD), engineering drawing, electrical and electronic principles, and computer aided manufacturing. Employment opportunities range from telecommunications, electronic and mechanical engineering, design, sales, quality control, maintenance, manufacturing, or production engineering.
Five GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English, maths, or a relevant Level 2 qualification.
The course is continuously assessed through assignments, projects and case studies. Students will develop a responsible and co-operative approach to working on their own and in groups. The course uses practical activities, presentations and involvement with local businesses wherever possible.
Students may progress to a Higher National Certificate or degree course, or Advanced Apprenticeship.
