This apprenticeship is designed for your apprentices seeking to become competent at Level 3 in the engineering pathway relevant to your business. The apprenticeship develops the skills and knowledge necessary for a successful career in one of the following engineering disciplines: mechanical, electrical, electronic or maintenance.
Your apprentice will benefit from excellent teaching and learning facilities and an industry experienced and qualified staff team. The technical, taught components of the course will enable your apprentice to develop in depth knowledge of relevant core units. The practical aspect of the course will help to develop your apprentice's application of knowledge and skills in your workplace. This is supported by expert assessors who will work with you to ensure the development of skills and knowledge is tailored to meet the requirements of your business.
This apprenticeship programme covers a range of practical skills and underpinning knowledge and includes the following components:
1. Level 3 NVQ Extended Diploma in either: Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
2. Level 3 Edexcel Diploma in Engineering (in chosen pathway)
3. Functional Skills in Maths, English and ICT (Level 2)
4. Employment Rights an Responsibilities (ERR)
5. Personal Learning and Thinking Skills (PLTS)
To become an Apprentice at this level, you will need either GCSEs in English, Maths and a Science subject at grade C or above or to have completed a Level 2 Intermediate Apprenticeship in Engineering.
You will also need an employer; BCoT works closely with employers and are made aware of any vacancies they have available so make sure that talk to us to find out if there is anything suitable for you. Please do not rely on this though, we always recommend that you actively seek employment yourself.
The Level 3 NVQ Extended Diploma is assessed by the candidate completing a portfolio of evidence gathered from workplace activities. The Level 3 BTEC Diploma in Engineering is assessed through the completion of college assignments.
