Why did you choose to study with BCoT?I wanted to go somewhere new after secondary school. My oldest sister came here and told me really good things. The Student Support team have really helped me settle into life at college.
Why did you choose your course in particular? I specialise in Automotive as part of my Future Pathways course. I love taking things apart and have previously worked on my mum’s car in my spare time. The automotive workshop looked really cool when I first saw it.
Do/did you have a career plan in mind before joining BCoT and has it changed?I originally wanted to do an Apprenticeship in Hospitality and Catering but now I want to progress to Level 2 and Level 3 Automotive.
What do you like most about your course? Any memorable moments/trips?There’s really good atmosphere in the workshop which I like. I love to learn hands-on so the way of studying here at BCoT is perfect for me. It’s really satisfying when we get down to the detail of how cars are built and how they work.
What do you think of your tutor/the staff at BCoT?Luke Higley (Course Director, Future Pathways) is really supportive. He’s funny and helps me with my personal support and progression. Steve and Dave in Automotive are funny but when work needs to be done, they’re really good at pushing you to complete it.
What would you say to anyone thinking of doing the same course as you?Studying at BCoT is very good. We work hard but have a laugh at the same time. Learning is really flexible and studying hands-on is much more fun than listening to a teacher for hours on end.
