This qualification develops the knowledge and skills needed when working in a lead adult care worker role in care settings. It covers a wide range of areas including supporting individuals with their physical and emotional care, daily living needs and health and social care procedures.
You will be allocated an assessor who visits the work
setting every 4 to 6 weeks to support and guide you through your qualification.
You will need to complete both mandatory units plus optional knowledge &
competency units. The mandatory units include safeguarding and protection, personal
equality and inclusion.
The minimum entry age is 18 for this course. Completion of the level 2 diploma in care is recommended and a good standard of English and maths is required, which
will be monitored via initial assessment on enrolment. This is a National
Vocational Qualification and the candidate needs to be currently working in a
care setting and have 3-6 months’ work experience.
This diploma is delivered in the workplace using
a variety of assessments collected throughout the course. Assessment methods include:
workplace observations, witness testimonies, professional discussion, oral and
written questions and work product evidence.
