This two year counselling practitioner qualification is intended for those who want to train as professional counsellors in an agency setting. Successful completion of this course will enable students to provide a therapeutic counselling service within an agency framework and also progress to independent practice after a period of experience and/or further training.
On completion candidates will:
Counselling skills learnt at level 3 will be further developed including: self-awareness and a knowledge and understanding of the skills necessary for further training at level 5.

Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Skills. All applicants will require an interview, assignments will need to be typed so applicants must be IT literate. The course covers 420 hours of study over the 2 years.
Learning and Reflective Journal, written and maintained throughout the course covering at least 80% of the course sessions, practical role-play assessments, 100 hours counselling placement with relevant agency, 8 written essays over 2 years and an exam in Year 2.
