Apprenticeship


Course Overview

This apprenticeship is for staff members of Treloar's School, College and Trust only.

It is jointly delivered by Treloar's Trust and Basingstoke College of Technology and gives the opportunity for those new to adult care working to gain all the skills, knowledge and behaviours required to become qualified members of staff at Treloar's.  It also enables internal staff development and progression for existing team members at Treloar's.   

In a more senior job role, the apprentice will be making a positive difference to an individual's life when they are faced with physical, practical, social, emotional or intellectual challenges. They will be expected to exercise judgement and take appropriate steps to support individuals to maintain their independence, dignity and control as well as demonstrating how they improve the health and wellbeing of those receiving care and support. On completion of this apprenticeship, the individual will be demonstrating leadership, guidance and direction to new staff members.

Entry Requirement

On initial assessment, learners should be at level 1 (equivalent to Grade D/3 GCSE) in English and maths.

Assessment

This apprenticeship is delivered in the workplace and end-point assessed by an independent, third party assessment organisation.  Maths and English are assessed by formal tests.  English has a speaking and listening component, where learners are required to give a presentation as well as take part in formal and informal discussions.
